A NUMBER of services at libraries across Worcestershire will return next week following Covid restrictions introduced back in March.
Meeting rooms will be available to book again at some libraries from November 2.
Maximum capacity levels will be reduced to ensure they are Covid-secure and new procedures in place to allow rooms to be used safely.
November will also see the return of Storybubble sessions for families at some of Worcestershire’s libraries.
They will be starting at The Hive, Malvern and Redditch libraries with more libraries joining later in the month. These again will be Covid secure.
Councillor Lucy Hodgson, cabinet member with responsibility for communities, said: “We know how important libraries are in our local communities. All of our libraries are now open following national guidance to close and I’m delighted that some of these services are returning from next week.
“For many people our libraries provide an invaluable service whether that be story sessions for families or meeting rooms for local businesses and organisations. There is so much to benefit from by visiting your local library.”
Desk space for people to work away from home, or to study, get online or access free Wi-Fi can also now be booked at a library.
Libraries have a team of Digital Champions and staff who are able to support with developing digital skills and to help those needing assistance to apply online for County Services, such as blue badges, bus passes and school applications.
Covid safe spaces have been created to allow the return of this support in libraries from November 2.
