AN investigation into the stabbing of a man near a block of toilets in Evesham remains ongoing.
No arrests have been made following the attack near the Workman Gardens, at the junction of Port Street, Waterside and Bridge in Evesham, at about 11.17am on Monday.
Following the stabbing, the man, who is his 30s, was taken by air ambulance to hospital and is still in a critical condition.
Police cornered off part of Waterside, Evesham, as well as a section of Workman Gardens and a driveway leading to a social club on the opposite side of the road.
The attack comes as West Mercia Police announced its week-long The Save a Life, Surrender Your Knife campaign today (Tuesday, September 11).
During the campaign, those surrendering knives will not have to give any personal details and will not face prosecution for carrying them.
However, the force will carry out an investigation and seek to prosecute if they believe a knife has been used to commit a criminal offence.
There is a knife surrender bin at Worcester Police Station in Castle Street.
Police investigating are appealing for witnesses to call them on 101, quoting incident number 182s.
