AN Evesham man has been charged on suspicion of burglary.
Daniel Gurney, 32, of Deacle Place, Evesham is suspected to have broken into the house of an elderly lady at a house in Little Priest Lane, Pershore on Tuesday October 24.
He is believed to have targeted the female under the guise of selling food items to her and then returned to steal the ladies handbag and contents, including cash and a mobile phone.
He was arrested on Wednesday November 8 in Pershore and taken to custody in Worcester.
He was subsequently charged with burglary of a dwelling.
He will appear at Worcester Crown Court on Monday December 11.
West Mercia Police are urging residents to ensure windows and doors are now locked.
They also warn that using light timers will give the appearance of someone being home on dark nights.
