EVESHAM'S annual indoor event - The Golden Mile - attracted hundreds of Britain's top indoor exponents and several keen competitors from the USA.
The event at Evesham Rowing Club coincided with the town's popular River Festival and is one of the highlights of the indoor calendar.
Those over 14 can compete for the full mile (or 1,609 metres) while younger competitors row as far as they can in a set time.
Once again Jo Lyons from Worcester posted a formidable time in the Open Women's event rowing the distance in five minutes 27.8 seconds shaving four seconds off the British record.
Records also tumbled in the older age categories with Joan Van-Blom clipping nine seconds off the record for the Women's 50-59 Lightweights (6.02.2), while Christina Nug-ent-Lee took four-tenths of a second off the record for the 40-49 category.
It was clearly an over-50s day for record-breaking men. Brian Bailey took 6.1 seconds off the 60-69 class with a time of 5.32.4, while Roger Bangay came in at 5.45.8 in the over-70s lightweight - 5.2 seconds faster than the current British record.
There were plenty of medals for Evesham members. Andrew Walker won gold for his time of 4.57.5 in the Men's Under 23-event., while brother Tom wasn't far behind, time-wise, with gold in 5.10.0 in the Under-18 event.
There was a J15 gold for Yasmin Tredell who rowed the mile in 6.06.4, which would have given her gold in the J16 and J18 events!
Sister Zena, meanwhile, picked up gold in the Year 8 three-minute event completing 771 metres.
Dani Symonds won the J14 four-minute event with 974 metres, while the The Year 6 two- minute event was won by Patrick Sullivan (470m).
Sadie Bryan rowed 463m in the girls' two-minute Year 6 event to claim gold, Tegan Parsons won the Year 7 equivalent with a distance of 511 metres, while Abi Penrose won the J18 Women's event in a time of 6.11.8.
