THE story of the drunken squirrel which went on a rampage in Honeybourne Railway Club has featured on a popular television show.
It has been around 18 months since the Evesham Journal featured the story about the creature causing £300 worth of damage to the club.
The amusing story made national headlines and was featured on radio news broadcasts at the time.
However, it was brought up once again this time on quiz show QI.
In a section about Squirrel Nutkin, Sandi Toksvig regaled Phil Jupitus, Alan Davies, Miles Jupp and Deidre O'Kane with the tale of the squirrel which she called a "fantastic story".
Club secretary Sam Boulter, who was named on the show, said he has been stopped in the street several time since by people who watched the BBC2 show on Friday.
He said: "I didn't know it was on but a lot of people have stopped me in the street to tell me.
"People are always speaking to me about it, it is well remembered.
"The drunken squirrel put the pub on the map. It's surprising how often it is mentioned.
"He hasn't been back though but they're still running around in the field outside the club.
"He is still barred though - we still need to recoup the profits," he joked.
The episode is still available to watch on iPlayer.
