THERE will be something for everyone at the upcoming annual Vale Country Fair with point-to-point racing.
The popular event, in its 9th year, takes place at Andoversford this Sunday, April 17, with a packed itinerary to keep the family focussed all day.
The programme features some old favourites, such as pony racing, a working and family dog show, birds of prey flying demonstration, husky dog team demonstration, dog agility, terrier racing and a parade by the Cotswolds Vale Farmers hunt
There will also be plenty of outlets for food and refreshments, as well as a licensed bar and trade stands.
Youngsters are catered for with fairground rides and a slide.
The point-to-point meeting is unique in the sport with a majority of the races restricted to either veteran or novice riders with entries totalling 135.
Andoversford trained Premier Portrait and jockey Gus Levinson have won six times so far this year. Old favourite Presentandcorrect is fancied over the fences to increase Frances Poole's chances in this event and could give Argentato a run for his money.
Coeur De Fou and Noel George won a hunter chase recently so the Slad trained gelding should be able to cope with this company.
In the Dock was impressive at Hereford Racecourse but he may not be so effective at this venue.
Kyles Faith has not been seen out since winning at Siddington but that should not count against him.
Bourton-on-the-Water vet Tash Seely and The Hollinwell were touched off at the Croome but have a chance to make amends in the ladies' open.
Allerton has proved a good mount for young Lilly Pinchin while Coeur De Fou, Kyles Faith and Premier Portrait also hold engagements in the men's open.
Gett Off My Cloud has struck form in recent weeks and could make a quick reappearance in the members' race after finishing second last weekend.
Working Title failed to gel with former Olympian Victoria Pendleton, but won when he was reunited with Joe Drinkwater.
Drinkwater Construction has sponsored races at this meeting in the past, and success for Working Title would be a fitting reward.
