IT may not quite be the final frontier, but one enterprising business is running a successful operation by boldly going to the less explored corners of the Vale.
There are many obvious attractions to living in rural communities or smaller villages, particularly in the scenic Vale countryside.
However one disadvantage of living in relatively remote area is that it can be relatively difficult or time-consuming getting to the shops and services that people in larger communities have on their doorsteps.
But the StarChip Enterprise is there to provide a helping hand - at least by making sure people can enjoy traditional British fish and chips without having to stray too far from the comforts of their own home.
The mobile fish and chip van makes regular tours of the Vale, serving up delicious, piping hot food to people in local villages.
As well as proving popular at school and charity events, the van is always a huge hit with the elderly or people who are less mobile and who might struggle to get to town on their own.
“All our fresh food is cooked to order there and then by our friendly, knowledgeable, uniformed staff on our state of the art cooking ranges,” said owner Jeff Warren.
“We have a full chip shop menu along with OAP and family daily specials.
“In a day where we live in large communities overshadowing the small towns with their mainstream fast food restaurants, StarChip Enterprise understands there is a great demand for the nation’s favourite dish.
“But sometimes it just isn’t possible in smaller villages and environments to travel to the nearest chip shop.”
And convenience does not mean any compromise on quality - as Mr Warren takes great care to ensure al of the food served up is some of the best in town.
“We only use line caught cod and haddock caught from sustainable fisheries,” he said.
“We cook with healthy oils that contain no hydrogenated fats and only one per cent trans fats, and we are pleased that over the last 12 months we have been catering for coeliacs with our delicious gluten-free produce.
“So many many people who have not been able to have fish and chips for many years and are now able to enjoy them and look forward to our visits.”
The StarChip Enterprise visits a whole host of villages, including Harvington, Badsey, Broadway and Willersey.
It can also be booked to cater for special events.
