A BOMB blast victim from the Vale was still in hospital 25 years ago after celebrating his 32nd birthday.
Cpl Peter Griffiths was facing the prospect of being in hospital until 1989 after he was badly injured by an IRA explosion at Inglis Barracks in London.
Doctors were pleased with the progress made by the Royal Engineers postal corps soldier from Horsebridge Avenue, Badsey. But his mother, Trudi Griffiths, said at the time she didn’t expect him to be fit enough to leave Edware Hospital, where he was undergoing major treatment.
