A COMEDIAN from BBC 2’s Extras will be just one of the comedy headline acts to perform at The Granville@Barford’s fourth Comedy Night later this month.
James Dowdeswell will be joined by double act Brian Damage & Krysstal and Adam Staunton for the evening on Sunday, November 21, with the legendary Ryan Gough as compere.
Since winning the Jongleurs New Act of the Year award in 2000, Dowdeswell has developed into one of the UK’s best circuit comedians, headlining at some of the biggest comedy clubs around the world.
Rumour has it that Ricky Gervais laughed so hard at one of his performances that he gave him a part in Extras on the spot.
London-based double act Brian Damage & Krysstal bring a mixture of deadpan comedy, silliness and music to the stage which has delighted audiences from Sidcup to Sydney. Adam Staunton, meanwhile, is one of the hottest new headliners to emerge from Liverpool recently, and visitors can say they saw him here first before he became famous.
Compere Ryan Gough performed his first gig in 2000 after jumping up to the stage to deputise for a friend. Now having graduated into a regular circuit comedian he has performed at every club the length and breadth of the country.
Being 6ft 5ins tall with a shaved head, lazy eye and trademark black leather coat he can come across and scary and intimidating, but nothing could be further from the truth as his friendly banter with the audience makes him an ideal compere.
Tickets to the Comedy Night this coming Sunday cost £9 each, or £14 with supper which is available from 6pm until 8pm, with acts from 8pm. For more information call 01926 624 236 or visit granvillebarford.co.uk.
