Vienna Festival Ballet will dance the classic ballet Coppélia live at the Evesham Arts Centre on Easter Monday, April 22.
It gives a local audience a rare chance to enjoy ballet, not as a live screening but as an actual stage performance.
A spokesman said: "This enchanting comic ballet tells the tale of village lad Franz, his true love Swanhilda and diabolical Dr Coppélius’s life-size dancing doll Coppélia.
“The mechanical doll is so lifelike that Franz becomes infatuated and forgets Swanhilda – who dresses as the doll to show him his folly, ultimately saving him from the inventor’s evil plans in time for a happy ending. This production is choreographed by Terence Etheridge to music by Tchaikovsky.”
“We’re very pleased to welcome Vienna Festival Ballet back to Evesham.” said arts centre volunteer Neal Cartwright.
“Unlike the usual satellite-screenings, this talented and hard-working company bring the magic of actual live ballet to local audiences – making it accessible to all.”
Tickets are on sale now from Evesham Almonry Abbey Road WR11 4BQ 01386 446944 and the arts centre website, EveshamArtsCentre.co.uk
