PERSHORE’S Transition movement has won accolades from the Co-operative Group for its continued success and was awarded a sum of £150 to help it develop further.
The cheque was presented to Transition Pershore chairman Paul Booth, along with a copy of the book The Transition Timeline, by Helen Bryden from the Co-operative West Midlands Area Committee.
Helen said: “I am delighted to present this to Transition Pershore on behalf of the committee. This funding is provided by the South and West Regional Board under their Transition Town Awards Scheme.
“The area committee wishes Transition Pershore every success in its endeavours to move towards a more sustainable future for the benefit of us all.”
Mr Booth confirmed the money would be used to fund a series of film and talks evenings aimed at raising awareness of the issues of peak oil and climate change, together with the need to build on sustainable practices.
