A WELL-known local cyclist who was president of the Evesham Wheelers has died after a cycling trip on the continent.
Neville Chanin was an ambassador for the local club in Europe, and friends and members said they were often approached by fellow cyclists when abroad and asked if they knew him.
He died last Saturday, April 17, at a bed and breakfast in Winchester, said the Evesham Wheeler’s social secretary, Adrian Main.
He added: “I was shocked when I heard of his death. He was an active member and had travelled the world on his bike.
“He was on his way back from France when this happened.
“I knew him for many years and he was a great ambassador for the club. He was a very likeable character and will be sadly missed.”
