IT was a highly successful day for the Conservative party in the local elections yesterday as the party secured a seat on both the district and town council.
Evesham residents went to the polls to vote for their favoured candidate to replace the town’s longest serving councillor Ron Cartwright who died in December last year.
In the election to find a new member for Evesham South on Wychavon District Council, Gerry O’Donnell - a current Evesham town councillor was victorious by some margin.

Meanwhile, the election to find a representative for Evesham Town South on Evesham Town Council, was comfortably won by Tory representative Charles Homer. Mr Homer received 432 votes and the only other candidate to stand - John White of UKIP - received 217 votes.
