ANTIQUE experts discovered more than £8,000 of items at an event in Pershore earlier this month.

Silver and jewellery specialist Maryanne Lineker-Mobberley was joined by pictures specialist James Forster and Asian Art specialist Alexander Clement at the event held by fine art auctioneers Halls at Number 8, High Street, Pershore.

Discoveries included an aquamarine and seedpearl pendant by London jewellers Carrington and Co, valued at up to £5,000, an art nouveau turquoise pendant and chain at up to £1,500, and an aquamarine gem set ring at £600.

Other items earmarked for future sales at Halls including a ceramic mounted part set of silver knives and forks valued at up to £500, a silver mounted travelling dressing table set at up to £200 and an Asian ivory card case at up to £600.

Another event, a free antiques valuation, was held at Halls' Kidderminster office. Miss Lineker-Mobberley and watches, medals and coins consultant Derek Ainsworth attended the event where a diamond ring valued at up to £200, coins valued at £200 and a collection of musical instruments were consigned.

“We were delighted with the range of quality items that were consigned at both valuation events and hope to return to Worcestershire for further events soon,” said Miss Lineker-Mobberley.

“These events are always exciting because we just don’t know what is going to turn up on the day.

“It’s advisable to get an up-to-date valuation of silver, jewellery, watches, coins, medals, pictures and Asian art, as these items may now be either under-insured or over-insured on household contents policies based on current market values.”
